A surprise visit to the Alpine premises!

A surprise visit to our office on 28 May 2013 from Alpine Graduate Mike Mamais!
We love it when graduates walk in and share their wonderful experiences!! Mike Mamais is on a break from Disney Cruise Lines where he is having a fabulous and very well paid experience. Pictured here with Catherine Papavasiliou Gellis, Career & Placement Manager!

Mike Mamais graduated from Alpine in 2010 with a BA in International Food& Beverage Management.

He worked in Crete at a 5 star property when Alpine announced the arrival of a guest lecturer, Ramon Amore to deliver a course in cruise ship hotel operations and recruit interested graduates interested in working on Disney Cruise Lines.

After three mandatory interviews Mike found himself cruising the Caribbean aboard Disney Cruise Lines as Assistant Dinning Room Server.

In Mikes’ own words, “working in Disney Cruise Lines is an opportunity of a lifetime! The hours are long and at times work is tough, but the experiences and compensation gained are well worth it. I am very impressed by the professionalism of all the employees; we all have one goal which is to give our guests the best possible experience on the cruise. The company gives us incentive and motivates us to give our best because we as employees are very well taken care of also.”

“Working with Disney for me is also an opportunity to travel to many ports of call, and meeting interesting people from all over the world. I am now in Greece for two months of holiday before I begin the cruise season again - this time in Europe with ports of call Spain, France, Italy and Greece. I am looking forward to also starting my new position as a Dining Room Server in the Gourmet Restaurant; where else can someone work toward a promotion after only five months!" As for remuneration and benefits, Mike could not have wished for more!! Salaries are incomparable with land positions!

“I am happy to say that Alpine has given me the foundation and the educational tools and skills that are in high demand in today’s workplace. I am comfortable knowing that I have received from Alpine that which is needed in this highly competitive field.”
